Challenges and difficulties:
YWU is involved in many activities and programs and
because of that several difficulties emerged which had some negative
impact on the YWU work. Some of these difficulties are:
- Few women volunteered to work in YWU and its
branches which limited its services and its geographic.
- Conflict of time for the administration
members of the YWU because in addition of their work in YWU they hold an
official jobs that takes most of their time and that reflect on their
performance in YWU work.
- Despite of the union’s efforts to rise more
funding, lack of sufficient funding acquired for operating the union and
the constant expansion of the union’s activities resulted in providing
services that do not meet the union’s standard of quality.
- Deficiency of expertise and technical
equipment for the training programs of the union. Also lack of data
network between the union and its branches.
- Lack of understanding of the union’s roles
as a mass organization that has wide range of women and families that
benefit from YWU’s services that can be offered in all Yemeni
governorates.
The YWU commenced the first election conference in
2004-09-08. With the cooperation of the project that is presented by the
Dutch and Care international organization, YWU set its strategy of work
for the unions projects and activities.
