General goals of the union:

 

The union is seeking to elevate the Yemeni women participation in the political, economical, social, and cultural activities through the commitment to achieve the following goals:

1. Preserving the goals of the Yemeni revolution principals and protecting Yemen unity.

2. Promoting the spirit of cooperation and communal work through means that support social relations based on righteous morals derived from the Islamic faith.

3. Elevating the Yemeni women economically, socially and educationally. Educating Yemeni women to take part in the total development and building civilized democratic society.

4. Literacy education among women.

5. Family support and maternity and childhood care.

6. Participation in finding work opportunities for women and support its political and social role in the society.

7. Encouraging women for nomination for government authority positions and to participate in setting legislations that concern women. Working on developing laws that protects woman’s and family’s rights.

8. Developing links between the women in all the Arab and Islamic countries. Exchange expertise and working on achieving unity in the Arab women movement.

9. Achieving the best forms of cooperation with women organization in the world also active participation in their activities which does not contradict with the union’s goals and local laws.

10.  Participating in the Arab efforts in supporting the developments of Arab women issues. Support of women issues in Palestine and all occupied Arab territories is a priority.

Addressing the national and Islamic issues and defending them in regional and international conferences and acquiring the support of the international women organizations to support the union and Yemeni women issues in general.
