Literacy education:
Illiteracy among adults is one of the
major problems that the YWU is struggling to eliminate. The government and
all non-governmental organizations have put many programs to resolve the
illiteracy especially among women. The YWU has set the following approaches
in this field:
-
Coordinating with government agencies
in order to reconsider the adult’s education curriculums to enhance the
women role in the society.
-
Training the teachers of literacy
education centers at YWU facilities to improve their teaching skills.
-
Finishing some supporting services for
the literacy education programs. By preparing legal education and family
planning programs to form a complete education services.
-
Creating sort of integration between
the programs of literacy education and habilitation and professional
programs to develop a new literacy education that incorporate several
stages of education: Pre-literacy education, literacy education and post
literacy education. A new literacy education program that doesn’t only
cover basic literacy needs but also to help women to acquire new skills
to improve their lives.
